Pictures From Afar Entertainment is a Los Angeles-based independent film production company founded by Yaroslav Altunin and Mark Skupen, specializing in genre feature films and short form narrative content. Supported by a highly experienced team from a motion picture and television, our goal is to constantly innovate the way we tell stories, while pushing the boundaries of how we make films.
Yaroslav Altunin - Writer, Director
Yaroslav Altunin is an award-winning writer/director from St. Petersburg, Russia. With a BA from Arizona State University in 19th century English literature and an MFA from UCLA in Screenwriting, Yaroslav has over 10 years of experience in directing film, theater, music videos, and documentaries. After placing at the top of The Hit List, Yaroslav is currently working with Silver Pictures and Netflix writing grounded science fiction features.
Mark Skupen - Producer
With over 30 years in film and television, with projects such as Nightcrawler, X-Men: First Class, NCSI, CSI:NY, and The Sheild, Mark Skupen has created a strong foundation in his home of Los Angeles and seeks to make meaningful films for a modern age.
